Position descriptions.  Loose or tight, every corporate position has a description, with requirements and responsibilities.  Filling one of these positions brings expectations.  Welcome to the family!

In this context, God reveals to us His own expectations, with our only requirements being belief — trust, and then to obey.  As for responsibilities, “He’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women.  It’s quite simple:  Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.”  Pleasing (to Him) becomes more than producing, as we are to both “be and do” of His good pleasure.  From a Kingdom position, we represent the King, reflecting His views, His plans, and His virtues, being His lights, His righteous value internationally.

And Father, as we trust You through Your Son’s credentials and presence, passion, provisions, protection, and peace, we also know Your promises to train us and us to fulfill, “other duties as assigned,” with hope and expectation, toward Your pleasure, position described.

Micah 6:8, Philippians 2:13,John 6:28-29, Matthew 5:14, 6:33, Romans 5:5, Psalm 32:8, 62:5 MSG/KJV
